Your pet’s safety and comfort is of our highest priority. We offer a variety of pain medications depending on the procedure and your pet’s individual pain assessment.

Spay/Neuter

This is an outpatient procedure- your pet is dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. We recommend pets be at least 6 months old at time of procedure. We do not recommend spaying a female dog while in heat; it is best to wait at least three weeks after the heat cycle. For larger, purebred dogs, a consultation with a doctor to discuss the appropriate time and benefits of surgery is recommended.

Mass Removal

This is an outpatient procedure- your pet is dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. Histopathology available through IDEXX Reference Laboratories.

Cat Declaw

After a physical exam and consultation with a veterinarian to evaluate if this procedure is the right choice for your pet’s lifestyle, we can schedule your pet for surgery. After the declaw procedure, your pet will stay with us in hospital for 2 nights. This procedure is typically done on a Monday or Tuesday only.

PRE-ANESTHESIA CONSIDERATIONS

Pets over 6 years of age should have a blood profile and urinalysis run prior to anesthesia to evaluate their overall health status and organ function.

TREATMENT PLANS

As with everything that we do, our services are tailored specifically to your pet. This means that your pet’s anesthetic protocol and surgical procedure may be more or less invasive depending on age and health status. A treatment plan for any procedure can be given after a physical exam. To schedule a pre-operative appointment, please call us today.
